The Greeks looked upon the a flower that resembles a star and called it the Aster because of its appearance of a star from the heavens themselves. The flower comes in a variety of colors from rich blues, to deep purples and soft pinks. Even though the Aster looks much like a daisy it is actually in the same family as the sunflower. Through history the Aster has been a symbol of drawing forth of affection from those around you. Often given as a gift to those born in September the Aster can talk of refinement and elegance. Giving a dried Aster as a gift can also serve as a love charm to someone that you are very affectionate for. By placing the Aster in a bouquet the mystical powers of drawing affection and elegance can be yours to hold.
